    Arthur Jacks

    Arthur Thomas Jacks, 84, of Route 1, Pineland, died Sunday, February 12, 1995, at Sabine County Hospital-Hemphill.

    He was born Sept. 2, 1910, as a son of the late Tom and Sara (Welch) Jacks and was a lifelong resident of Sabine County. Jacks had resided in the Centerview community the past several years, serving as a deacon of Centerview Baptist Church and was a member of the Bronson Masonic Lodge #893 and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a retired trucker.

    Survivors: wife, Rena Mae (Ansley) Jacks of Pineland; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and J. H. "Jack" Whitton of Pineland; a son and daughter-in-law, Bro. Ted and Bobbie Jacks of Pineland; two sisters, Sharkie Morris of Bronson and Florene Hall of Pineland; two brothers, Ivy L. Jacks of Pineland and Elvin R. Jacks of Yellowpine; six grandchildren, Joyce Wolfe, Carol Rodgers, Ellen Strickland, Terrell Jacks, Jim Whitton and John Whitton; and 13 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill, with Bro. Ben J. Gibbs and Bro. Weldon Thomas officiating. Interment followed with Masonic graveside rites at the Whitton Cemetery in Centerview.

    Pallbearers: Jim Whitton, Jon Whitton, Terrell Jacks, Bryone Wolfe, Larry Rodgers, and Tommy Jacks.

    Carmon B Jacks

    Funeral serviced for Carmon B. Jacks, 70, of Pineland were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 1994 at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with Bro. Noel Hammock and Bro. Ben J Gibbs officiating. Interment was in Centerview Cemetery near Pineland..

    He died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, at his residence on U.S. 96.

    Jacks was born Dec. 19, 1923 in Sabine County as a son of hte late Tom and Tennie (Welch) Jacks. He had formerly lived in Sour Lake several years before returning to Sabine County 11 years ago. He was a member of the Centerview Missionary Baptist Church and a retired shift engineer with Transco Gas Company.

    Survivors: Wife, Ollie Bell (Whitehead) Jacks of Pineland; a daughter, Barbara Hall of Dallas, two sons, Brad Jacks of Nederland and Max Jacks of Beaumont; four grandchildren, Jason Jacks with the U.S. Marines in California, Bryan Jacks and Brittni Jacks, both of Pt. Arthur, and Lori Jacks of Beaumont; two sisters, Sharkie Morris of Bronson and Florine Hall of Pineland; and three brothers, Elvin Jacks of Yellowpine, and Arthur T. and Ivay L. Jacks, both of Pineland.

    Survivors include his wife, Vicki Jacks of Nederland, his sons, Jason Jacks and his wife Andrea of Nederland and Bryan Jacks and his wife Danielle of Denham Springs, Louisiana, his daughter, Britni Brandin and her husband Brent of Groves, Texas, his grandchildren, Taylor, Connor, Harper, Ellis, Easton and Peyton, his sister, Barbara Lucas of Broaddus, Texas, his brother, Max Jacks of Sour Lake, Texas and his mother, Ollie Jordan of Pineland

    He was preceded in death by his father.

    A gathering of Mr. Jacks' family and friends will begin at 4pm, with his funeral service to follow at 6pm Friday, October 6, 2017 at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street in Nederland, Texas.

    His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard's Crematorium of Beaumont, Texas.
