    Vincent William Roses was born September 23, 1923 in Pensacola, Florida to John P. Roses, and Maude Everhart Roses, lived in Pensacola expect in the US Army 1940-1945 worldwide served in 2nd Armored Division, 48th Armored Medical Batt. Nov. 30, 1940 '96 July 31, 1945.

    Mr. Roses was preceded in death by, Wife of 57 years, Maria Albertina Ponsen Roses, Parents and Grand Parents, Brother Pedro, Sister Rosemary Norris, many uncles, aunts and cousins.

    Mr. Roses was a thirty five years employee of L&N Railroad and a lifelong member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church.

    He is survived by a daughter Sandra Roses Milligan (Jim Milligan) Colorado Springs, CO., granddaughter Tracy Kirchharr, and dear friend Mickey Brown. He enlisted in the US Army November30th, 1940 served honorably till July 31, 1945 served at Forty Benning GA., landed at Casablanca North Africa December 24 1942, when he left there went to Tidworth England went to France Normandy June 1944, thru France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany, was at the battle of the Bugle, from there back to Holland wound up at the Elbe River in Germany, where they were stopped to wait for the Russians. While in Holland he met Maria Ponsen, fell in love and after the battle of the Bulge he returned to Holland to marry her on February 6, 1945, a marriage that lasted 57 years, until she died on November 29,2002.

    Services will be Thursday 9:30 a.m. at Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.

    John Roses Jr., age 88, was born on Nov. 9, 1925, in Pensacola, Fla. and passed away on Oct. 22, 2014. He moved to Fort Walton Beach, Fla. in 1969 after retiring from the Air Force. He served 23 1/2 years. John is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Eden Bernice Roses. He is survived by his four children, Bob Roses, Bill Roses, Barbara Workman and Debrah Betterelli; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

    A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
