    Buried in the New Section of Centerview Cemetery. The annotated transcription of this cemetery, courtesy of Kay Parker McCary, shows he served as a PFC in the US Army during World War II.

    Fitzhugh married Emma M. "Emmie" McDaniel on 9 Apr 1975 in Newton County, Texas. Emma (daughter of William Robert McDaniel, Sr. and Rilla Mae Martin) was born on 1 May 1908 in Fairdale, Sabine County, Texas; died on 28 Oct 1994 in Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas; was buried on 30 Oct 1994 in Yellowpine Cemetery, Sabine County, Texas.
