His place of birth was listed as Kingston, Michigan. He was a barber at Berghoff Barber Shop, and had a wife and three children. He was tall, slender and had blue eyes and brown hair. At the time he completed the registration, on June 5, 1917, he was a resident of Royal Oak Township, Oakland County, Michigan.
