Her parents were shown as William Granville Pointer and Alice Josie Holland. She was born on April 23, 1905 in Milburn, McCullough, Texas.

Did she and Denton divorce? The following record, from the Rootsweb Texas Death Index, appears to be for Edna A. Kerr. She is listed as single however.

Her Texas Death Certificate, viewable online at FamilySearch.org, Texas Deaths, 1890-1976, shows her as the daughter of William A. Pointer and Alice Holland, and indicates she was born in Rochelle, Texas versus Milburn, she was also listed as married, so presumably the death index was in error. The informant was Denton Kerr.

Page) was born on 4 Apr 1903 in Rosevine, Sabine County, Texas; died on 19 Mar 1976 in Houston, Harris County, Texas; was buried in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas. The "William Rupert Kerr Lecture in Obstetrics and Gynecology" was established at the University of Texas Medical Branch by Dr. and Mrs. Charles Denton Kerr in memory of their son, Dr. William Rupert Kerr, who practiced obstetrics and gynecology with his father in Houston until he died unexpectedly of a heart attack in 1968. His Texas Death Certificate, viewable online at FamilySearch.org, Texs Deaths, 1890-1976, shows that he was married at the time of his death, contradicting the Texas Death Index on which he was shown as single. He was listed as a Physician, and a veteran serving during the Korean conflict. His cause of death was listed as Ischemic heart disease and coronary artery disease, both of which he suffered from for 9 1/3 years. The informant was Denton Kerr, his father.

U. S. Veterans Gravesites on Ancestry.com shows that he served: AX2 US Navy, Vietnam, with his service start date being 8 Oct 1964, and was buried at the Houston National Cemetery. Sharon Haynes instead shows he was interred at the Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, Houston, TX.
