William Tyree
Funeral services for William Tyree will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in Colvin & Son Chapel, with burial in IOOF Cemetery. Tyree, an 88 year old Oakland City resident, died at Gibson General hospital after a short illness. He was born in Crawford county on Sept. 24, 1888, and had been a lifetime resident of Princeton before moving to Oakland City, where he had lived the past 4 years. Tyree was a retired inspector for Southern Railway Shops where he worked for 52 years. He was a member of Broadway Christian Church, Princeton. Tyree served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include 7 daughters, Mrs. Mildred Julian of Oakland City, Mrs. Pauline Williams of Terre Haute, Mrs. Georgia Lemaire of Princeton, Mrs. Virginia Relleke of St. Louis Mrs. Betty Hedges of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mary Walters of Evansville, and Mrs. Minnie Jones of Houston; 2 sons, Eugene Tyree of Princeton David LeRoy of Houston, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. onWednesday at the chapel.
