Mrs. Agnes Evelyn McLemore, 51, died yesterday in a local hospital following a short illness. She had lived in this area for the last 13 years.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 PM in the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, with the Rev Kaare J. Moe, pastor of the Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. McLemore, who was born in Texas, leaves children. Fred McLemore, Ruth Graham, Cathy Bishop, Max Ray and Kerry McLemore of Modesto, Tin Stropkai of Alaska Daran Craven of Crows Landing, Bruce McLemore, Alaska and Doris Parrish of Tracy, San Joaquin County

She was the sister of Coo Allen and Mattie Bolen of Texas and Jessie Bryant of Louisiana. She also leaves 18 grandchildren.

Like me, she was named after her father, Cecil, later changing it to Tin (a nickname given to her by her father) after the courthouse that held her birth records burnt down. "

She was married to Michael Joseph Stropkai. They were residents of Anchorage, Alaska. They had four children, Regan of Anchorage; Judy of Wasilla, Alaska; Roy Anthony "Scotty" who was a resident of Anchorage (now deceased); and Michael, a resident of Palmer, Alaska since 2000. Her mother, Tin, lived with Michael briefly in Palmer before her death.

Doris K. Parrish was born in Oklahoma on June 30, 1934 to Cecil E. and Agnes McLemore and passed away on April 15, 2012 at the age of 77 in Oakdale, Ca. The family moved from Oklahoma to Arkansas where they lived before moving to Grayson, Ca. when Doris was nine years old. She attended high school in Modesto. She was married to Milton "Pete" Parrish in 1951 and became a homemaker, farm-wife and , eventually, mother of 3 children, Lynne, David and Ray. She remained happily married until 2007, when Pete passed away after a long illness.

She loved to sew. She made many of her own and her children's clothes. She loved popular music especially Blues, R&B and Country. She was a meticulous house keeper and devoted mother. Later in life she took an interest in, and became very knowledgeable about, politics.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Agnes, her husband Pete, brothers, Clyde, Claud, Fred and Bruce and sisters, Audrey, Ruth and Daran. She is survived by her brother Max Mclemore of Temecula, Ca., two sisters, Kerry Duarte of No. Hollywood Ca. and Cathy DeLisle of San Jose, Ca., and her three children, Lynne of Truckee, Ca., David of Fresno, Ca. and Ray of Oakdale, Ca.

Private services are to be held at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Oakdale. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, a contribution toward the electoral defeat of President Obama, which was her fond hope, would be welcome. Doris also favored the re-election of Gov. Scott Walker of Minnesota and the defeat of Elizabeth Warren in the Mass. Senate race.
