    Ada Evening News- May, 1999 Creston Threlkeld Dallas, Texas --- Services for James Creston Threlkeld Sr., 91, Dallas, formerly of Ada, Okla., are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Southwest Church of Christ in Ada, Danny Stewart officiating. Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Threlkeld died May 24, 1999, at a Dallas nursing home. He was born May 4, 1908, at Francis, Okla. to Dr. William Rolle and Ida Trawick Threlkeld. He came to this area in 1912 and attended Ada High School. He graduated from East Central State College with a bachelor's degree, and he received his master's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1941. He was co-owner and operator of Threlkeld Brothers Pickle Company in Ada with his brothers Robert and Emory. He was also co-owner of Threlkeld Farms west of Ada. He was a charter member of the Southwest Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 20 years. He also taught Bible classes. He was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving from 1942 until 1956. He moved to Dallas in 1990. He and Bettie Droke were married Jan. 20, 1937. She died June 2, 1989. Survivors include two sons, James C. Threlkeld Jr., Mesquite, Texas, and Gary Threlkeld, Littleton, Colo.; two granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. Bearers are Riley Young, Leo Sims, Norman Bullock, Glendel Hatton, Tommy Myers and James Coffey. Honorary bearers are John Lee, Wayne King, Butch Platt, Johnny Ray, Bill Bailey and Gary Littleton. Family and friends may call at Criswell Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m. today.

Bessie was born on 18 Aug 1914 in Olney, Coal County, Oklahoma; died on 2 Jun 1989 in Ada, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma; was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma.
