Ann and Eldon McLemore write that he served in Company K, 3 MS Infantry Private-2 Lt. Confederate Army. He married sisters, Frances C. Patterson and when she died, Laura Minerva Patterson, daughters of William R. Patterson and Margaret Carlock. He was said to have died at age 41, after having a heart attack and falling from his horse. He was also said to have studied medicine, but made his living from a Mill.

At the time of the 1900 federal census, an Everet McLemore, born May 1869 in Mississippi was working as a servant in Mt. Carmel, Covington County, Mississippi. He was living in the home of Ben Warren, a carpenter, along with numerous other servants listed primarily as Day Laborers or teamsters.
Ann and Eldom McLemore show that he married Eula HESTER in 1904, and that they were the parents of Evelyn, Mary Lula and Juanita.
