Linda Boyd passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, at Sabine County Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New Orleans, LA., on January 16, 1933. Mrs. Boyd was a long time resident of the Milam area. She was a member of Hemphill's Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a founding member.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy Boyd, her son, J. R, and a sister Tammy, whos lived in in CA.
It was her desire that no service be hald for her. The Hilliard Funeral Home in Van, TX was in charge of the final arrangements.

A native of the Campground community in Sabine County, Mrs. Livingston lived in Orange, Texas and Beaumont, Texas before moving to Lumberton in 1959.
She retired as head bookkeeper from Jones Feed Company in Beaumont after 37 years of service.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Arlie Boyd, husband Lyvayghn Livingston and brother Elroy Boyd (FAG mem 69465204).
Survivors include her son Steve Livingston and his wife Pat of Lumberton, three grandchildren and very special niece Juana Kay Boyd.

Graveside services for Dr. Sibyl W. Wyatt, 92, of Nacogdoches were conducted by the Reverend Justin Beadles of Grace Bible Church at Sunset Memorial Park on June 25, 2001 at 10 am. Dr. Wyatt entered her larger life on June 23, 2001, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born November 12, 1908, on the White Plantation in the Gravel Hill Community in Sabine County, the daughter of Henry Ernest White and Sarah Evelyn Boyd White.
She is survived by a son, Gayle D. Wyatt, of Nacogdoches and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A native East Texan, Dr. Wyatt taught British Romance and Victorian literature at Stephen F. Austin State University for twenty-five years. Prior to joining the SFA faculty, she taught and served as a high school teacher and principal in public schools; and while on leave from SFA for doctoral work, she held a teaching fellowship at Rice University.

It is noted in the Bob Bowman's book, THE MYSTERY OF LADY BOUNTIFUL, that Sibyl White became principal of Hemphill High School in the 1940s and was perhaps the first woman in Sabine County to earn a Ph.D. (Bowman, p. 55).

"Hugh 'Mr. Mack' McLemore, 81, of Beaumont died Saturday, December 25, 1999, at a Beaumont hospital. McLemore, a native of Hemphill, had lived in Beaumont 54 years and was a retired postman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: Bell McLemore of Beaumont; daughter Carolyn McCormick of Plano; three grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. Funeral services were held December 27 at Cathedral in the Pines, Beaumont. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Beaumont. Kelley & Watkins Funeral Home of Beaumont, directors.

Dalton I. Boyd, 97, of Lufkin, formerly of Hemphill, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, October 27,2018 in Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St. in Hemphill, Texas.
Graveside services will follow beginning at 12:30 p.m. in Gravel Hill Cemetery, FM 1592, Hemphill, Texas.
Dalton was born in Milam, Texas on August 25, 1921 to Onie Griffin Boyd and Bradford I. Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Opal; first wife, Mary Ruth Girouard Boyd and second wife, Margaret Petit Lawrence.
He is survived wife, Rita Grimes Boyd; son, Dale Boyd and wife, Cindy, of Florida; daughter, Kay Boyd Mott and husband, Bernard, of Orangefield, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Boyd of Denver, Colorado, Barbara Boyd Dory and husband, Justin, of Littleton, Colorado, and Stevie Dake Toth and husband, Kodie, of Bridge City, Texas; three great grandchildren; stepson, Don Grimes; step-grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and one step great-great grandchild.
Dalton was a member of the VFW for life in Hemphill Post 10351. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Philippines. When he returned from the war he went to work at Jefferson Chemical Company in Port Neches. While there, he helped establish the credit union and was on the board of directors for many years. He retired with 33 years of service and moved back to Hemphill.

Lloyd Weldon Conn, 88, of Pineland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in Hemphill, Texas.
Lloyd was born July 11, 1932 in Mayflower, Texas where he grew up. He married his wife, Jean, on July 9, 1958 and they made their home and raised their family in Pineland, Texas. He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers where he worked as a Reservoir Ranger on Lake Sam Rayburn.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Jean Conn; his parents, Martin and Effie (Tilley) Conn; and his brothers D.L., Frank, Cecil, and Elray Conn.
Lloyd is survived by his daughters, Sandra Pack and husband, Don, of Pineland, Texas and Peggy Nash and husband, Ted, of Terre Haute, Indiana; his son, Billy Conn of Hemphill, Texas; his grandchildren, Brad Cox, Dustin Conn, Brandon Conn, Cassie Vansickle Lowery, Matthew Vansickle, and Dakota Pack; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was also an "adopted" Pappy to many young people in the area.
Lloyd was a member of the Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge. He served many offices during his 61 years as a Mason, including District Deputy Grand Master.
He was a member of the Eastern Star Bronson Lodge before merging with Hemphill Lodge 375 and also a long-time member of the Shriners. He had been a long-time Board member of the Sabine County 4-H and served on the Pineland City Council.
Visitation for Lloyd will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Van Lowe and Bro. David Ebarb officiating.
Masonic Rites and burial will follow services in Gravel Hill Cemetery with Clint Conn, Steve Conn, Mike Dillard, Dakota Pack, Josh Newcomb, and Paul Newcomb serving as pallbearers.

Mary was born November 7, 1933 in Rosevine, Texas to E. G. Conn and Ethel Baldree Conn. She was a housewife and mother. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Bethel Chapel Baptist Church in Pineland, Texas. Mary loved cooking and baking. She was a very giving lady and loved helping people in whatever way she could.

A May 22, 2019 story on page 1 of The Sabine County Reporter-titled "Hemphill High School announces 2019 honor graduates" noted that "Abigail ADKINS, the 17-year-old great grandaugther of C. D. and Corene Boyd of Milam, is this year's salutatorian. She has attended HISD 13 years and has a weighted ranking point average of 101.4909. Adkins will attend Texas A&M University and major in biochemistry and genetics."
OBITUARY
Mr. C.D. Boyd of Milam, Texas, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020, at his residence at the age of 84 years, 1 month, 5 days.
He was born December 8, 1935, in Rosevine, Texas, to parents W.C. and Lula (Peveto) Boyd and had been a longtime area resident. He retied from Santa Fe Railroad in 1991 after several years of service as an agent/clerk. Mr. Boyd was an avid outdoorsman and member of Rosevine Baptist Church.
His survivors include his wife, Corene Townsend Boyd of Milam, Texas; daughters, Abigail Adkins of Milam, Texas, and Belinda Brady and husband Albert of Gatesville, Texas; sons, Jeff Boyd and wife Rexcine of San Augustine, Texas, David Boyd and wife Gia of Milam, Texas, John Boyd and wife Karen of Palestine, Texas, and Brent Boyd and wife Teri of San Augustine, Texas; sisters, Evelyn Taylor and husband Tommy of Dallas, Texas, Billie Greer and husband Carl of Houston, Texas, and Ann Pugh of Red Springs, Texas; a sister-in-law, Shirley Boyd of Lufkin, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. and Lula Boyd; brother, O.D. Boyd; granddaughters, Amanda Adkins and Candace Boyd; a great-grandson, Ethan Boyd; and brothers-in-law, G.C. Langley and Tommy Pugh.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas, with Bro. Skipper Eberlan and Jeff Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, located on FM 1592 in Sabine County, Texas.
Lunch for the family will be served following the service at First Baptist Church in San Augustine.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.

Funeral services for O.D. Boyd, 75, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Rosevine, Texas.
Mr. Boyd was born August 29, 1938 in Rosevine, Texas to William Carroll and Lula Belle (Peveto) Boyd, and died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his residence. A former resident of Rosevine, Mr. Boyd had resided in Lufkin for nine years. He worked 40 years in the telephone industry as an inspector. He had been a member of the Bronson Masonic Lodge #893 for more than 40 years and was a past Master and District Deputy Grand Master. He was also a member of the Sharon Shrine and Scottish Rite. Mr. Boyd was a deacon at Chestnut Drive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Boyd of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jeannie Boyd of Woodlake and Keith Boyd of Marshall; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Brad Lindsey of Lufkin; granddaughters and spouses, Kristel and Travis Holt of Georgetown, Stephanie and Dave Covington of Belton, KayCee Boyd of Woodlake, Kaitlyn and Devon Parker of Bossier City, Louisiana, Hailey Lindsey and Aubrey Lindsey, both of Lufkin; grandson, Austin Lindsey of Lufkin; great-grandsons, Levi Covington of Belton, Jackson Holt of Georgetown and Andy Covington of Belton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Billie Sue and Carl Greer of Houston, Evelyn And Tommy Taylor of Quinlan and Ann Pugh of Red Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Dowayne and Corene Boyd of Milam; 'adopted children', Richard and Cindy Holmes of Broaddus; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Earl Boyd. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Langley, Dan Greer, David Boyd, Jeff Boyd, Mike Taylor and Gary Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Lindsey, Mark Taylor, Richard Taylor, Brent Boyd, John Boyd, Martin Ferguson, Butch Randolph and Joe Smith. Mr. Lister passed December 9, 2014 in San Augustine. He was born March 29, 1952, in Houston, Texas to Laverne (Conn) and Lucius W. Lister Sr., He worked for Kellogg, Brown & Root - Halliburton as a Supervisor in Fabrication for many years. At the time of his illness, he worked for FloTek as a Production Manager.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lister of San Augustine; daughter, Sheryl & husband David Green of Houston; son, Dwayne & wife Amy Lister of Houston; father, L.W.
