    Elna Faye Kincel, 78, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.

    Elna Faye was born August 20, 1944 in Buna, Texas to Charlie Melvin Latham and Mona Leafy Easley Latham. She and her husband, Noah, were married August 8, 1958 and together raised their seven children. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a loving wife and mother.

    She liked to go shopping and fishing and was a very good cook. She enjoyed her flowers in her yard and you could always count on her having coffee ready when you stopped by for a visit. She welcomed everyone into her home and she especially loved having her children and grandchildren with her.

    She is survived by her sons, Melvin Kincel and wife, Eloise, of Hemphill, Noah Lee Kincel of Woodville, Charles Kincel of Hemphill and William Kincel and wife, Amber, of Hemphill; daughters, Shirley Smith and husband, Glenn, of Pineland and Melissa Huffman and husband, Steve, of Jasper; brother, Ronnie Latham and wife, Judy, of Lufkin; sisters, Margie Williams of Broaddus, Dorothy Bayless and husband, Gary, of Pineland, and Christine Jacks and Delwin Burgess of Hudson; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Noah Ashley Kincel; daughter, Diana Jones; brothers, Gerald Latham and Donald Latham; and sisters, Wilma Jean Dickerson, Barbara Bragg and Marcille Latham.

    Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

    Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Payne and Bro. Pat Jacks officiating.

    Burial will follow services in Frisby Cemetery with Raymond Bragg, Jason Jacks, Dylan Jacks, Lee Kincel, Landen Mitchell, Easton Mitchell, Samuel Smith and Holly Kincel serving as pallbearers.

    She was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed growing flowers and herbs for making herbal medicines and oils.

    Diana is survived by her mother, Elna Faye Latham of Hemphill, her husband, Ted Jones of Gravel Hill, her sons, Tellis Wayne Jones and wife, Trudy, of Hemphill and Benjamin Jones and wife, Kelsey, of Hemphill, her daughter, Emily Hyvl and husband, Delbert, of Snook, Texas, her brothers, Melvin Kincel and wife, Eloise, Noah Lee Kincel, Charles Kincel and William Kincel and wife, Amber, all of Hemphill, her sisters, Shirley Smith and husband, Glenn, of Bronson, Texas and Melissa Huffman and husband, Steve, of Jasper, Texas and her grandchildren Jaden, Kaylee, Elaina, Adeline, Leilani and Lucasse.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Noah A. Kincel.

    Graveside services were officiated by Brother Floyd Wright September 23, 2021 in Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
