The crew had left Sabine Pass and was enroute to an offshore oil platform 18-miles off of the Texas coast Thursday morning. Early reportes by John Griggs, senior vice president of Rotorcraft Leasing Co, LLC stated that the early winter storm was not a factor in the helicopter crash. Snowfall and sleet, combined with 10 to 20 mph north winds were not a challenge to the pilot...New Orleans Coast Guard got the call at 9:47 a.m., almost two hours after the aircraft should have arrived at the platform.....Conn, along with four others, were killed in the crash.
