KIRBYVILLE (Spl) ? Graveside services for F. Putt Hawthorne Sr., 95, of the Hawthorne community near Roganville will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Wilkerson Cemetery in Newton County. Elmo Withers, an elder in the Primitive Baptist Church, will officiate. The Causey-Stringer Funeral Home of Kirbyville is in charge of arrangements. The body will remain at the family home until time for the services. Hawthorne died about 2 p.m. Wednesday in his home after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a Baptist. He was a farmer, a stockman and a member of a pioneer family of the Kirbyville area. Surviving are five sons, Harry, Austin, Johnny and Frank Hawthorne, all of Kountze, and Madison Hawthorne of Pasadena; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Keates of Jasper; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
