They had 11 children. Dorcas died May 5,1859 in Lowndes County, Georgia. Edmond and Dorcas were members of the Primitive Baptist Church. Blanton, Edmond's child by his first wife. They had eight children. The will of Edmond Blanton dated January 5, 1878 was probated in Oct. 1878. He bequeathed to his wife, Elizabeth, his home place consisting of parts of lots 294 and 305 11th land district of Lowndes County and all his personal estate. His other lands went to his children.
