- Final Rites for Mrs. Hubley, 72 Held Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Olivia Pratt Hubley, 72, of Hemphill, who died Thursday at 7:15 a.m. in her home after a long illness, was held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. She was a native of Alabama, moving to Sabine county with her parents in 1890. She and her husband returned to Hemphill about three months ago from Jacksonville, Texas, where they had resided for several years. The Rev. Clarence Howell, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hemphill, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Lovis Dunn, pastor of the East Mayfield Baptist Church of Hemphill, and the Rev. Louis W. Pratt, of Garland. Burial was under the direction of Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill. Survivors include her husband, L. F. Hubley of Hemphill; one daughter, Mrs. Jeannie Barnes of Pasadena, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Harper, Mrs. W. E. Coussons and Mrs. Giles Smith, all of Hemphill; three brothers, Horace Pratt, Lewis Pratt and Henry Pratt, all of Hemphill, and one grandchild. Out-of-town people who attended the funeral for Mrs. Olivia Pratt Hubley held Friday were: Sam Jones, Virgie Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Tell Simpson, all of Jacksonville; Mr. and Mrs. Arch Redding of Garrison, Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Hubley and Mrs. H. W. Hubley, Jr. of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Nannie Pratt of Tyler, Mrs. and Mrs. Bill Pratt and daughters of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Coussons, and sons of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. James Barns and son of Pasadena, Rev. Lewis D. Pratt of Garland, and Buddy and Woodrow Pratt of Port Neches.
