    • Cass City Chronicle
      Cass City, Michigan
      January 6, 1926

Chester Schultz and Lincoln Gregor of Puslinch, Ontario, who have been visiting relatives here, left the latter part of the week for Kingston.

At the time of the 1930 U.S. Census, a 22 year old Lincoln Gregor was a boarder in the home of John and Ida Larson of Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan [ED 63-61, SD 14th, Sheet 9A, Stamped 60, 374 Oakland Avenue]. He was listed as born in Canada, to Canadian parents, and as employed doing Auto Metal Finish. Despite the difference in the place of birth of his mother, this does appear to be the same Lincoln Gregor.

From: CASS CITY CHRONICLE-FRIDAY, AUGUST 5, 1949 - "Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Gregor of Whitby, Ont., and Mrs. Charles Gregor and grandson, Douglas McDonald, of Puslinch, Ont., were guests of Mrs. Charles Gregor'sbrother, B. A. Schwegler, and other relatives in this vicinity from
      Tuesday to Friday."

This snapshot was labeled by Lena Mark Schwegler as "Schwegler Folks at Laura Gregor's Farm near Puslinch, Ontario."
Maggie Bethel had the following comments about this snapshot: "Woman on the right - Louisa Benkelman Schwegler, 5th woman - Alice Ross Schwegler, 6th woman from right - Kate Schwegler Klinkman. I'm thinking a couple of the men are Will and Ben Schwegler -- either the two sitting in front or the man standing between them, but the shadows from the hats are such that I can't tell who is who. Will might be holding one of his sons? I don't see Lena in the picture and since Alice is there, it is a safe bet Will has the boy. The pose of the first man reminds of Fred Gregor -- but I suppose that is too much to assume."

Ben and Lena are the first couple to the left. The man in the suit in the center of the photo appears to be Lincoln Gregor. They were at the Hamilton Rock Gardens, built during the Great Depression as a make-work project, and part of the Royal Botanical Gardens of Ontario. The gardens were built in a gravel pit by using stone from the Niagara Escarpment.

The other individuals in this photo are unknown. PLEASE EMAIL IF YOU CAN IDENTIFY ANYONE ELSE IN THIS PHOTO.
