Jack Houston Harper, 62, of Many, Louisiana, died Tuesday, August 6, 1996, at Conroe Regional Medical Center in Conroe, Texas.
Born Jan. 12, 1934, in Hemphill, he had lived in Many eight years and and was a former resident of Mont Belvieu. Harper was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea, and a construction superintendent.
Survivors: mother, Sally Speight Ward of Many; two sons, Michael Aron Harper of Silsbee and Jimmy T. Harper of Magonolia Springs; two daughters, Sonya Lynn Moore of Pt. Neches and Tablau Sue Ferguson of Fred; three step-daughters, Billie Broussard and Marcia LaFour, both of Baytown and Mary Lane of Longview; two brothers, Joe Harper of Navarro and Johnny Harper of Porter Heights; two sisters, Rose Burns and Mabel Corley, both of Many; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Doyle Carpenter officiating. Interment followed at Harper's Chapel Cemetery in Sabine County.
