    • Goldie Hobbs Dorsey, 78, of Bronson, Texas passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

      Goldie was born in Morton, Texas on May 12, 1943 to Lincoln E. Hobbs and Esther Mae Large Hobbs. She was a retired LVN having earned her nursing degree at Panola College. She had been a resident of Sabine County since 1963, having previously resided in Dry Creek, Louisiana. She was a member of Campground Community Church.

      Goldie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved caring for and working with the elderly. She was an extremely fun person and was always on the go. When she was home, she was raising chickens, sewing, or canning. She was also well known for her cooking. Goldie was involved in the the east senior center and served on the board where she created friendships that turned into family.

      She is survived by her children, Woodie Dorsey and wife, Angie, of Milam, Loriessa (Lou) Foshee of Mansfield, La., and Benji Dorsey and wife, Shellie, of Greenwood, La.; bonus daughter, Cynthia Conn Bibey; grandchildren, Travis Dorsey, Bethany Dorsey, Jacob Dorsey, Eric Foshee and wife, Lindsey, Tyler Rogers and husband, Eric, Maylon Foshee, Kallie Dorsey and husband, Ghassan Hassoon, and Benjamin Dorsey; great grandchildren, Easton Foshee, Hudson Foshee, Tucker Foshee, Brylee Rogers, Diesel Rogers and two more great grands on the way; sisters, Mary Lawrence and Geneva Pickering; brother, Lenord Hobbs; and very special friend, Marcel Harper.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, E. W. Dorsey; son-in-law, Ricky Foshee; and six brothers and sisters.

      Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

      Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rusty Hammett officiating.

      Burial will follow services in New Hope Cemetery with her grandsons Travis Dorsey, Jacob Dorsey, Eric Foshee, Maylon Foshee, Benjamin Dorsey, Eric Rogers and Ghassan Hassoon serving as pallbearers and great grandsons Easton Foshee, Hudson Foshee, Tucker Foshee and Diesel Rogers serving as honorary pallbearers.
