      Mrs. Mary Ellen Bryant Fortner, age 92 of Huntingdon, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

      Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Clark Cemetery. Rev. L. H. Hardwick, Jr. and Bro. Donald Ricketts, Jr. will officiate the service.

      Pallbearers who will serve are Kelly Fortner, Matthew Stano, Joseph Fortner, Larry Goff, Jimmy McGee and John Drinkard.

      Mrs. Fortner was born December 10, 1920 in Whitthorne, TN to the late James H. and Emma McLemore Bryant. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Pentecostal Church Huntingdon. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Rev. James Logan Fortner I; a brother, Billy O'Neil Bryant and a grandson, Louis John Stano III.

      She is survived by one daughter, Mary Bryant Fortner Stano (husband, Louis) of Brentwood; two sons, Dr. James Logan Fortner II (wife, Gloria) of Nashville and Joseph O'Neil Fortner (wife, Lisa) of McKenzie. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Kelly Fortner (wife, Peggy), Logan Fortner III (wife, Judith), John Stano III, Jessica Fortner, Caroline Fortner, Rebecca Fortner Beverstein (husband, Joe), Katherine Stano, Joseph Fortner (wife, Emily) and Matthew Stano; and five great-grandchildren, Kirsten Fortner, Emma Arnold, Reagan Fortner, Ellison Fortner and Griffin Fortner.
