    • Mrs. Billie Rose (Birdwell) Patterson of Bronson, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the age of 92 years, 7 months, and 11 days.

      Mrs. Patterson was born March 10, 1931, in Bronson to parents Clarice (Crocker) and Samuel Birdwell.

      She and James Patterson were married in 1947 and lived in Beaumont for 33 years. Upon retirement they returned to their farm in San Augustine County. Their greatest joy was spending time with friends and family at their country home. After returning to their farm, they became faithful members of the First Methodist Church in Pineland, Texas.

      Her survivors include her daughter, Brenda Chirafis and husband Michael of China, Texas; a son, James Patterson Jr. and wife Dodi of Wimberly, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Chirafis Jr. and wife Jennifer, Andrew Chirafis and wife Cathy, and Billie Rose Patterson; and great-grandchildren, Mason Chirafis, Emma Chirafis, Michael Chirafis III, and Lydia Chirafis.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, James Patterson, in 2012; father, Samuel Birdwell; mother, Clarice Skinner; a brother, Tex Birdwell; and sister, Patsy Hardy.

      Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia in San Augustine.

      Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alberto Williams officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Little Flock Cemetery, located on County Road 4330 near Bronson.

      Pallbearers: Mike Chirafis Jr., Andrew Chirafis, Michael Chirafis III, Mason Chirafis, James Patterson Jr., and Rusty Birdwell.

      Her family wishes to offer a special appreciation to the staff members of Hospice Plus and Stone Creek Care Center for their attention and care for Mrs. Patterson.
