    • In a 1966 article about the Golden Wedding anniversary of Onie Griffin and Imboden Boyd, Virgie Speights wrote that Onie's great grandfather was W. H. Griffin, who came as a boy of 17 years with the Boyd family to Texas (circa 1835).
