Robert Bob Cousins, 94, of Newton, went home to be with his heavenly Father, on Monday, January 16, 2012, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on April 27, 1917, in Newton, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Newton and was a member of the Bon Wier Baptist Church. After retiring, he enjoyed tending to his cows and creating memories with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, of which they will never forget. He is survived by his wife, Margie Cousins of Newton; daughters, Sue Dougharty and husband, Truman of Newton, Kay Spinn and husband, Will of Holland, Tx; sons, Barney Cogswell and wife, Cathy of Newton and Robert Cousins and wife, Glenda of Walker, La.; brother, Dick Cousins of Hull-Daisetta, Tx; 16 grand children; 44 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Jeanie Cousins; brothers, Roy Cousins, Clarence Cousins, Elton Cousins, and Harvey Cousins; sisters, Alta Cousins, Nora Cousins, Ester Davis and Beulah Brooks; daughter, Margie Nichols; grandsons, Jeff Dougharty, Shawn Cousins, Tommy Hardy, and Larry Hardy; granddaughter, Courtney Trent; and great grandchildren, Alex and Olivia Trent. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Smith Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 18, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial to follow at Ford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Jeff Dougharty Scholarship Fund, 242 CR 4025, Newton, Tx 75966.
