    • The STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST, Volume 18, dated September 5, 1955, reported that he graduated from Marlette, Michigan High School. The 1961 issue of the Broadcast noted both his marriage to Patricia Caswell, and that he had spent two weeks training at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin, during the summer.

      As of the publication date of Art Peck's book, he and his wife Patricia, along with children Lee Ann and Tim, were living in Marlette, Sanilac County, Michigan.

    • The 1941 issue of the Striffler-Benkelman Broadcast showed that Mr. and Mrs. Owen Darling of Brown City observed their 25th anniversary Apr. 19, 1941. The STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST, Volume 26, September 5, 1966, reported that they were honored at a reception at the home of their son Jim in celebration of their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary. Their eight children and families planned the celebration.
