- Martha Gibson was born about 1800 in North Carolina, daughter of Stafford Gibson and Mary Ann Sumrall. Stafford Gibson died in 1805 in North Carolina. He may have died in Chesterfield District. South Carolina, as in Drawer 7, Case # 278, Nancy Ann Gibson was granted letters of Administration.

Stafford Gibson and Nancy Sumrall had four children: Elizabeth Gibson married her cousin Calvin Sumrall, Sarah Gibson married Purson Powell, Martha Gibson married 1st. James Conn ,2nd. Allen McDaniel and Thomas Gibson married Anna Adams.
Martha Gibson Conn McDaniel was the only child that did not sue her Mother and stepfather, William H. Graham. Thomas Gibson was the father of Clarissa Gibson that married Henry Patrick Conn, son of James & Martha. Henry Patrick Conn & Clarissa Gibson were first cousins.
James Conn & Martha Gibson were married March 10, 1820, page 179 Book A. Richard Conn, Jr. was a witness. They were married by James Phillips, Minister of Gospel.
Martha Gibson-Beneficiary of Stafford Gibson, page 109, March 15, 1820, as well as Sarah & Elizabeth, received their full share of the estate of Stafford Gibson, decreased, from Ann Graham.
Martha married 2nd. Allen McDaniel in Copiah County Ms. on July 28, 1835. Then Allen McDaniel was made guardian of the six children of James Conn & Martha Gibson Conn. They were George, Nancy, William, James, John and Henry Conn. Dated 24th. August 1835 in Copiah Co., Ms. Recorded in Bond as Guardian-Filed 24th. August 1835.
Proof that this Martha Conn was the same Martha Gibson that married 1st. James Conn, then 2nd. Allen McDaniel. See Transcribed Deed Record J, Copiah County, Page 82. William Graham for love and affection that he felt for his stepdaughte Martha McDaniel, late Martha Gibson. Wm. Graham was like a father to Martha as her father died when she was young.
William H. Graham married February 10, 1809 to Nancy Ann Sumrall Gibson, widow of Stafford Gibson.
They had five children: Leonidas Graham b April 21, 1810, Clarissa Graham b Dec. 18, 1813, John Graham b Dec. 15, 1815, William Henry Graham, Jr. b Oct 28, 1817 and Polly Graham b July 18, 1819.
Martha Gibson Conn McDaniel and Allen had two children: Leonidas b ca 1838 d April 1860 in Marion Co., Tn. and Martha Ann born ca 1840.
