    • Virgie Speights wrote, in OLD-TIMERS OF SABINE COUNTY, TEXAS (p. 83) that "Dr. A. F. Beddoe spent 40 years tracing family records and putting them into a book in which he tells how each generation of the (Beddoe) family in England and Wales appointed an historian and kept accurate records, a custom to which is still adhered to.....Dr. Beddoe, who was born at Sabinetown, grew up there and went to Dallas to help found Baylor Medical School, to marry Miss Addie Buckner, daughter of R. C. Buckner, found of Buckner's Orphan Home, wrote letters to these British relatives, and then visited them."
