Page 136: in a section titled "Did You Know?" - "May 2, 1898...Warriors Bold-the patriotic spirit had touched the population so that little boys pants forgot their restraints and left to join the Army at Springfield. Those recently leaving: Thomas Mehan, J.; Roy Kile; and Fred McLemore. These soldiers were 13 years old."

      At the time of the 1910 census, Fred M. McLemore, age 27, Single, born in Illinois with both parents also listed at born there, was listed as an electrician and Civilian Employee of the U. S. Engineer Department for the Military and Naval Forces at Fort Mills, Corregidor, the Philippines. His mother's obituary of this same year listed him as Fred McLemore of Manila, P. I.

      At the time of the First World War, a Frederick Monroe McLemore, born December 15, 1882, registered in San Francisco, California. No place of birth was listed. He was for Standard Oil Co as a telephone and telegraph engineer. He was of medium heighth and build, with blue eyes and light hair. This appears to have been the same individual, but this should be verified.

      Not located at the time of the 1920 census. In 1930, he was enumerated in Tracy City, Tulare, San Joaquin County, California. He was a roomer at a Hotel, and listed as age 46, divorced (having married at age 31), born in Illinois as were his parents, and working as an Electrical Engineer in Film Production. When his father died in 1940, he was shown as living in Roseland, California.

      The Janke Tree at WorldConnect shows his wife as Mayme JAMES, and that they were the parents of Winifred Mary and Roberta Ann McLEMORE.
