      Othell, or Aunt Tell, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Her five children, six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren all knew her as Mother. She enjoyed making a home for her family and saw to it that her retirement home in the Harrisburg community was the scene of many holiday and birthday celebrations and family gatherings. She was an exceptional cook, quilter and gardener. She was a member of the Jasper Church of Christ. Othell attended Hemphill High School.

      Othell leaves three children and their spouses to cherish her memory: a son and daughter-in-law, David and Shirley Solly of Jasper; a daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Brooks Buteaud of Jasper, and a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Warner of College Station. She had six grandchildren: Lisa Sterling of Port Neches, Kim and Mel Buteaud of Carrollton, Shannon Solly of Nacogdoches, Angela Bollinger of Frisco, and Lindsey Jacks of Diboll; sixteen great-granchildren: Julie Mooneyham of Beaumont, Matt Mooneyham of College Station, Callie and Emily Sterling of Port Neches, Rueben, Esther Rose, Eva, and Phoebe Solly of Nacogdoches, Brooke, Blake and Breslin Bollinger of Frisco, Paige and Evan Jacks of Diboll, and Levi, Sage and Jillian Buteaud of Carrollton.

      In loving memory of Julia Othel Solly age 87 years,she passed away at Timberlake Nursing Home. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 2:00pm at Stringer-Griffin Funeral Home.
