      Henry Earl Reeves

      Henry Earl Reeves, 95, of Newton died Nov. 4, 1999 at his residence.

      Reeves was born Oct. 14, 1904, in Isla as a son of the late Henry B. and Lena Lee (Vickers) Reeves and was a former longtime resident of Sabine County before moving to Newton four years ago. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a self-employed carpenter and cabinet maker.

      Survivors: his wife of 74 years, Ruth Reeves of Newton; a son, Robert Earl Reeves of Newton; a daughter, Jimmie Ruth Prothro of Beaumont; five granchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held Nov. 7, at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Jim Turner officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery near Milam.
