      Wayne Zielke dies in Battle Creek

      Wayne J. Zielke, 37, of Battle Creek died Sunday at Community Hospital in Battle Creek. He had been ill since April, 1976.

      A graduate of Western Michigan University, he taught for one year in Muskegon. Starting in 1968, he was employed as a speech correction teacher for the Harper Creek School District, Battle Creek.

      He married Mary J. Martus of Gagetown in the community June 15, 1988.

      He is survived by his wife, two daughters at home, Andrea and Kristi, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Zielke of Battle Creek, and a sister, Joanne R. Zielke, also of Battle Creek.

      Services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery there. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home of Battle Creek.
