    Notes
    • At the time of the 1900 Grayson County, Texas census, a 56 year old George W. Adair, born in Alabama in July 1843 (???) , was living in Tom Bean Town with his wife, Lucy (55) and son Joseph (21), Pleas (18), George (16) and daughter Lina McCown/McGown (a 27 year old widow with two of her own children). Lena was born in Mississippi, with the sons all being born in Arkansas.

The couple was shown as being married 33 years, with Lucy being the mother of 7 children, 6 still living.

There is a obvious difference in age and marriage facts. But is it possible this is the same family?

There is a remote possibilty this could be Anna, widowed, at the time of the 1900 census. There are several discrepencies that would need to be resolved to draw this conclusion. Why, for example, was her mothr in law listed as Nannie? Why would she show she only had one child, when George has several siblings. Why Lamar County? Do we know where George McLemore's wife was born?
