Juantia Spurlock Futch
Juanita Spurlock Futch, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, in Vitas Hospice Care, Houston. She was born in Browndell to Minnie Mae and Chester L. Spurlock on June 10, 1914. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bertis Lee Clark in 1976 and E. W. Futch in 1998, after which she moved to Houston from Pineland to live with her daughter.
Mrs. Futch graduated from Pineland High School and was very active in sports, going to the state finals in tennis.
She attended the Pineland Church of Christ and while in Houston the Spring Wood Church of Christ. She was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all of her family.
Survivors: son, James Jerry Clark, Sr. and his wife Nell of Henderson, TN; daughter, Linda Lee Holzmueller and husband Randy of Houston; four grandchildren, James Jerry Clark, Jr., Tina Ann Turner, Cheryl Ann Sprabery, and Tammy Rene' Ortiz and husband Al; six great-grandchildren, Rachel Ann Spraberry, Ashlee Rene' Sprabery, Ryan Lee McCleskey, Christopher Leon Ferrell, Kelly Ann Teinert, and Kyle Ray Turner; two great-great grandchildren, Connor Zane McCleakey and Cameron Ray Teinert.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 28 in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill with burial following in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Jasper.
Services under the direction of Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill.
