      Cleo Brown

      Cleo Brown, 96, of Hemphill ded Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at Hemphill Care Center. Mrs. Brown was born July 4, 1910 in Timpson as a daughter of the late Eula Bell and Alvin HARLEY and had been a longtime resident of Sabine County. She was a homemaker and member of Strickland Crossing Church of God. Survivors, a daughter, Helen NICHOLS of Hemphill; a sister Clovis CONNER of Hemphill; 11 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jody BROWN; a daughter, Ernestine CHATAGNIER, and a son, Billy Joe BROWN. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday with Bro. Vance PURTELL officiating. Interment followed at Lott Cemetery, off FM 2024 in Sabine County. Services were under the direction of Wyman Robers Funeral Chapel in San Augustine.
