    • Obituary of William Mark Birdwell

      William Mark Birdwell, age 52, of San Augustine County, passed from this life on Saturday, June 17, 2017, in San Augustine, after a sudden illness.

      Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in the Chinquapin Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Wes Little officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, June 20, 2017, from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas 75972. Burial will be in the Chinquapin Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas.

      Mark was born to Helen (Murray) Birdwell and Carl O. Birdwell on May 10, 1965, in San Augustine, Texas. He graduated from San Augustine High School in 1983. Thereafter, obtaining his Associates of Applied Science Degree in Land Surveying from Lamar University, he worked along side his Father in the Surveying Industry for a number of years. Afterwards he owned Birdwell Surveying in Hemphill for many years and was a member of the Texas Board of Professional Land Surveyors. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a avid outdoorman, he enjoyed fishing in his spare time, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pineland.

      Those who are left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Kelli Harley and her husband, Justin of Jasper; Son, William Brien Birdwell of Hemphill; His beloved parents, Carl O. and Helen Birdwell of San Augustine; The apples of his eyes, his beloved grandchildren, Emma and Evan Harley; His Loving Sister, Carla (Birdwell) Ladner and her husband, Rodney of Lufkin and his Beloved Brother, Anthony Glen Birdwell and his wife, Cindy of Damascus, Maryland; His beloved nieces, Lauren Ladner; Leah Birdwell; Kristen Ladner and Abby Birdwell, along with numerous cousins, other family and friends.

      He is preceded in death by his beloved brother, Dale O'Brien Birdwell on January 28, 2006; his maternal grandparents, William Lockey Murray and Corrine Murray and his paternal grandparents, Florence (Hardy) Birdwell and Enlow C. Birdwell.

      Serving as Pallbearers will include, Rodney Ladner; Andy Birdwell; Justin Harley; Kevin Potts; Joush Morris and Bryan Ferguson.
