  Notes	Census records show his place of birth as Mississippi, although Rev. William McLemore reports he was likely born in South Carolina. Rev. William McLemore, Mark Freeman, April Makerney, and Carolyn Switzer all show that he married Mary Anne BRUNSON after 1843. She was said to be born 17 Jan 1830 in either SC or TN. Some internet trees instead show his wife as Mary Ann Johnson. In addition to the children enumerated with the family in 1850 and 1860--based on information from Harry Kimbrell McLemore to Rev. McLemore--he is said to be the father of Joseph Leonard (b. 28 Dec 1846) and Elizabeth (b. 10 Nov 1848). Mary Lynn Santa also shows a son Amos Morgan McLemore, born Nov. 1860, and daughters Martha b. 1865 and Mary Lou b. 1874.
