- Mary Frances Smith Fisher shows that he servied in Pvt. L. C. Griffith's Co, Louisiana Militia during the War of 1812, enlisting on Oct. 29, 1814 and being discharged on 24 Mar 1815. She also notes that the family can be found on the Marion County, Mississippi census in 1830 and 1840, and in Washington Parish, LA in 1850.
His widow, Martha. applied for a pension based on his service during the War of 1812. He was shown as marrying Martha on 18 Jun 1820. He enlisted for the war on 29 Oct 1814, and was discharged on 24 mar 1815. He died in St. Tammany Parish, LA on 2 Feb 1863. Martha died in 1889. The Pension number is WC 30613, the Bounty Land Number 39669 80 50 and 10809 80 55.
He sold a tract of land on 27 Mar 1817 to James Scott Jrs. in East Feliciana Parish (Notorial Records, Book A, Page 319, East Feliciana Parish, Clinton, LA). Book B, page 30, of the West Feliciana Parish Notorial Records, St. Francisville, LA, shows that he and his wife Marry Ann sold property to John Randolph.
Bettye Bragg Wagstaff showed him as born in Feliciana Parish, LA, which contradicts the census information of Tennessee.
