      Callie Mae Easley

      Callie Mae Easely, 90, of Hemphill died at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Easley was born July 24, 1913, in Carthage as a daughter of the late Eula (Brown) and James Allen (sic) Harley and had been a longtime resident of Sabine County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. Survivors: sons, Arvin Easley, Don Easley, and Jimmy Easley, all of Hemphill; daughters, Johnnie Faye GODSEY of San Augustine, Jimmie HIPPLER and Martha GRIFFIN, both of Hemphill, and Diane SHORT of Pineland; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Easley. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Strickland Chapel Church of God on FM 2024 with Bro. Vance Purtell and Bro. Joe Ebarb officiating. Interment followed at Lott Cemetery. Starr Funeral Home, Hemphill directors.
