It is not known if this is the same person. The Southhampton county Slave schedule indicates that Alexander McLemore owned one slave, a 40 year old Male, black.

    • Alexander and Howell McLemore married sisters, the daughters of John W. WOODFORD; Alexander married Sarah M. WOODFORD upon a marriage bond issued to them on July 16, 1842 (Southampton Marriage Register, p. 520), upon which Howell was security, and Howell married Lucy I. WOODFORD upon a bond issued December 18, 1842 (Southampton Marriage Register, p. 525), upon which his brother James was security. It is said that neither of these marriages resulted in children. (James L. McLemore, III, p 79).
