Name |
Elizabeth "Betsey" McLemore [1] |
Nickname |
Betsey |
Birth |
Bef 1792 |
Southampton County, Virginia |
Gender |
Female |
Death |
Yes, date unknown |
Notes |
- According to her descendants, she was the daughter of a Judge. Southampton County records reflect that John McLemore Jr. was appointed a constable, for St. Luke's Parish (Southampton Order Book 4, p. 168; Book 7, pp. 95, 101); his duties, as such, however, were not quite those of a trial judge, and their description of him as judge is thus probably somewhat inaccurate. (James L. McLemore, III, p. 63).
