      Joyce Nell Tatom Butler "Nell", 79, a lifelong resident of Sabine County, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Hemphill, Texas. Mrs. Butler was born September 19, 1937 in Plainview Community to Claud and Marie McGown Tatom.

      Mrs. Butler worked as a business owner and homemaker. She enjoyed her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and a great-great grandkid.

      She is survived by her sons; Roy E. Butler, Jr. and wife Nancy, of Hemphill, Texas, Don Butler and wife, Sandra, of Hemphill; daughters, Margaret Greene of Hemphill, Cindy Bennett and husband, Jim, of Bronson; sister, Kathy Hutto and husband E. H., of Palacios; Grandkids, Kevin Butler, Jason Butler, Amy Greene, Christy Childress, James Greene, Tommy Greene, Josh Bennett, Courtney Brittain, Nicole Corley, Kenny Butler, Holly Butler, and Mikey Butler; Great Grandkids; Hannah Butler, Hailey Butler, Carly Butler, Kaylee Butler, Brooksie Butler, Rhett Butler, William Greene, Abby Childress, Vivian Childress, Jacob Greene, Zachery Greene, Kallie Greene, Colby Greene, Tamsyn Greene, T.J. Greene, Ethan Bennett, Emma Bennett, Baylee Bennett, Caycen Brittain, Eli Brittain, Taylor Corley, Alyssa Corley, Cory Butler, Hunter Butler and great-great grandson, Cooper Hyden.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Earl Butler; her son, William Kenneth "Bill" Butler; brothers, Gerald Tatom and Cecil C. Tatom; and sister, Opal Tatom Lee Brown.

      Visitation will be held Friday evening, May 5, 2017 from 5:00 '96 9:00 p.m. at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas.

      Funeral services for Mrs. Butler will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery.

      Pallbearers for Mrs. Butler are Kevin Butler, Jason Butler, Josh Bennett, Michael Butler, Kenny Butler, and Cecil Tatom. Honorary pallbearers are Douglas Brittain and Kyle Butler.
