Morlas Cousins at the St. Alphonsus Convent in 1927
This picture was taken on the grounds of the St. Alphonsus Convent in 1927 when the nieces and nephews of Juliet Theresa Morlas (Sister Mary Cyril, R.S.M.) joined her to celebrate her third year in the order of the Sisters of Mercy.

Nettie, Amanda and Lucy were the three oldest daughters of Leontine Morlas and Edward George Zahn. This photo of them was probably taken between 1926 and 1928 in New Orleans.

Amanda Zahn and Emile Martin were married in 1945. Johnette Martin recounts that within a few years of their wedding, her father took her mother, her grandmother, and her three Aunt's, all single at the time, on a car trip to Canada. Her father did most of the driving. At one point, however, one of his sister-in-law's was at the wheel, and imprudently tried to pass a vehicle. Had he not quickly jammed his foot over hers, they wouldn't have survived. This photo was taken during that memorable trip.
