    • Robert McLemore Butler has their date of marriage listed twice in his database, once in 1901 and once in 1907. It appears that 1901 is the correct date.Witnesses were Wesley FAIRCLOTH, J.E. RICH, R.E. HOBBS. The couple was married at O.F. Rich's.

After they married, Amos and Catherine left North Carolina and moved to Texas and then to northwest Louisiana, where Amos worked as a driller. They say he was head driller on the first well over water, which was in Caddo Lake. They had eight children.

Robert McLemore Butler writes that he was 32 and she was 26 when they married in Sampson County.

Unable to locate in the census indexes for 1910 or 1920. In 1930, they were in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Six of their children were still living at home. Boyd had already died, and Ennis had apparently already left home.
