  Notes	His last name was spelled KOHLER, with an umlaut over the "O." Some of his children used the same spelling as he, others spelled their last name KOAHLER. Frank located an 80-acre homestead, the E 1/2 SE 1/4 of Section 6, which he filed for claim at the land office in Beatrice, Nebraska on May 20, 1872. He received a clear deed to the land on March 5, 1880. He and Mary purchased additional land in Fillmore County, some of which they sold to their sons. (Milligan, p 344).
