They renewed their vows in Fillmore County, Nebraska on March 20, 1880, moving shortly thereafter to Kansas and took a homestead north of Ludell. They apparently separated, as John remarried Fannie Krejdle in 1886, and Rosalie moved, without John, first south of Ludell, Kansas, and eventually on to Atwood Kansas. (Milligan, p 295).
