Notes |
- Kathy Casagranda notes that presumed sisters, Mary and Nancy Maximillian, were living in the home of their Aunt and Uncle, Margaret (nee Maximillian) and William Theodore Alford, at the time of the 1860 Sabine Parish census. This appears to be due to the temporary seperation of their parents, Joseph and Martha Maximillian.
She believes this is the same Nancy Maximillian/Maxey who married Henry Campbell in 1868 and then who died circa 1876-1879 after her son George was born and before Henry remarried. Nancy is NOT listed with Joseph and Martha at the time of the 1850 census, however, although the older Mary is shown. Nancy may have been left off inadvertantly, been born late in 1850 versus being born 1847-1848, or be the daughter of another Maximillian/Maxey family entirely. She is being attributed to Joseph and Martha Maximillian by Casagranda by the process of elimination, and through her being enumerated with Mary in 1860, who is known to be the daughter of Joseph and Martha.

- In 1850, Joseph is living with 30 year old Martha, born in Tennessee, and their four year old daughter, Mary. It appears they may have separated at the time of the 1860 Sabine Parish census, as 15 year old Mary Maximillian and 13 year old Nancy Maximillian, attributed to Joseph and Martha through the process of elimination, were living with the W.T. Alford family. Martha Maximillian is instead listed household of the CHRISTY family of Sabine Parish in 1860. Joseph and Martha are once again living together at the time of the 1870 and 1880 Sabine Parish census, but no children are present in either of those enumerations.
