    • In 1850, Joseph is living with 30 year old Martha, born in Tennessee, and their four year old daughter, Mary. It appears they may have separated at the time of the 1860 Sabine Parish census, as 15 year old Mary Maximillian and 13 year old Nancy Maximillian, attributed to Joseph and Martha through the process of elimination, were living with the W.T. Alford family. Martha Maximillian is instead listed household of the CHRISTY family of Sabine Parish in 1860. Joseph and Martha are once again living together at the time of the 1870 and 1880 Sabine Parish census, but no children are present in either of those enumerations.
