      Vergie Sanford

      Vergie Sanford, 97, of Baytown died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006. She was born Aug. 20, 1908, in Bronson and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors: a daughter and son-in-law, Druise and Peck MEIER of Baytown; granchildren, Judy and Jack HADEN, Jody and Bill WALTON, Jimmy and Carrie MEIER, and Joy and Sam POWERS, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Drewey Sanford. Funeral services were held Feb. 18 at Navarre Chapel with Larry Hafley officiating. Interment followed at Plainview Cemetery in Pineland. Arrangements were under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, Baytown.
