- Said to have come to Texas circa 1844. His occupation on the 1850 census was shown as saddler & farmer. He was living next to his brother.
Ancestry.com shows that he was a Confederate Soldier, enlisting as a Private in Company K, Nineteenth Regiment of Texas. His Texas Muster Roll Index card showed that he enlisted in January 1863 in San Augustine. His estimated year of birth was 1825.
