- Nancy (Mayo) Bishop writes that he was a minister of the M. E. Church, and buried at the M. E. Church in Center, Texas. He married second, after Elizabeth died, Martha Brittle on 23 Dec 1875 in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Martha is also buried at Shelbyville, with her dates shown as 1840-1888. The 1880 census shows that they also had three sons.
