She applied for a Confederate Pension at the age of 72, stating she had been a resident of Stephens County, Texas for the past 28 years, and was feeble from age. She listed their date of marriage as December 15, 1849 in Sabine County, Texas. She had remained unmarried since the death of Joseph Fish. She answered that he had served in "Wheats" Co Col Ford's Command of Infantry. Pension File Number 12626.
