  Married: Additionally, some Harvey children (Amanda b. 1823, Charles Clavin b. 10 Feb 1825, John Austin b. 26 Jan 1827)moved to the Ayish in San Augustine county in 1834 with Jefferson Haggerty and wife Malinda Bowie Haggerty. Jefferson Haggerty was Chief Justice (County Judge) of San Augustine County (1840), but was killed soon after in an ambush resulting from the Shelby County Feud. Malinda Bowie Haggerty was said to have been a niece of James Bowie of Alamo fame. "It is a known fact by descendants still living that she was a half-sister of the three Harvey children whom she brought to Texas and reared." (White and Toole, p 43).
